Diageo Puts its Trust into Marketing

Instead of cutting marketing budgets, Diageo decides to invest in marketing but to remove inefficient expenditures, and thus improve profits by shifting money investments. Two years ago, the company launched the platform Catalyst, whose main goal is to provide instant data to marketeers and help them create investment-worthy strategies.

According to Diageo’s global marketing effectiveness director, Adam Ben-Yousef, they have “achieved a more profound shift at the highest level in the belief in marketing investment. Marketing is no longer the first spend to be cut when a market wants to deliver its annual plan.”

Big Data Analytics and its Impact on the Indian FMCG sector

Indian FMCG sector has been growing exponentially over the past two decades thanks to “increasing disposable incomes and a shift towards consumption-driven society.” Today, in the Indian economy, the FMCG sector is the fourth largest one with 50% of the market being covered by the household and personal care segment and 19% by the food and beverage industry.

The biggest impactor for the growth of the FMCG sector in the future will be the increasing use of Big Data Analytics and Digital Technologies.

We were invited to be a part of the Mobile World Congress Los Angeles 2019, the world's largest exhibition for the mobile industry.
